Updated avatar wardrobes are here!
We are so excited to announce a bigger wardrobe for avatars! When a student opens their avatar store, they should feel excitement and awe at the array of items they can earn. This is exactly what we aimed for with our expansion!
Your Marketplace of extra recess and lunch with the teacher is still yours to create. This update is for the pre-built avatar store. The avatar store comes preloaded with all these epic items, so students have something fun to save their points toward before you have even created your first item in your store.
They spend the same class points they already earn from actions, attendance, games, and goals. That is a big part of building a classroom economy that actually works: the currency means something on day one because there are epic items worth saving toward. You keep teaching. They keep dreaming about a dino pack!
Already waiting in the closet:
Cowboy hats, duck hats, cat hats, beanies, and crowns
Dino, bunny, cat, fox, and everyday backpacks
Gold armor, gowns, hoodies, and first-purchase shirts around 25 tokens
There is something for everyone!
This is the part we love most. The same closet can dress a knight, a pirate, a teal dino, a firefighter, a witch, and a cat, each with a matching hat, outfit, shoes, and extras. One student wants armor. Another wants a striped tail. Another wants a gown and wizard boots. Nobody has to settle for a look that does not feel like them.

Same closet, six different students! A knight, a pirate, a teal dino, a firefighter, a witch, and a cat. Each set matches.
That range is the heart of student avatars. Identity first. Costume second. Watch a quiet student light up when the hat is finally theirs.
Hair and eyes are customizable!
Edit still starts with a body, a face, and a haircut, and that is the person they will wear all year. Hair color and eye color live on the Edit tab, not in the shop, and they cost nothing, so a student can keep a ponytail and try blonde, auburn, black, or something brighter without spending a single point. Eyes can be brown, blue, teal, or grey. Two students with the same cut can still look like themselves.

Anya on Edit, under Hair. The color row at the top tints every cut on the shelf!
Let them lock in the person first. Then the shop feels like a celebration instead of a scramble, because they are dressing someone who already looks like them.
Then they shop with the points they earned!
The shop is where the points go. Preview puts a piece on the avatar they already built. Clear preview takes it off. Nothing is spent until they buy, and nothing is saved until they save. That loop is simple on purpose: earn, try on, save up, and wear it in front of friends. If you want more ways to play, how to gamify learning in elementary is a friendly next read.
The Top shelf mixes school clothes and costume pieces on the same row, so a first purchase can stay small. Gold armor. A bear costume. A red trim coat. Everyday shirts for 25 tokens, which means a student can buy something this week and still have a bigger piece to save toward.

Editing Caleb. Gold armor, a bear costume, and everyday shirts on one shelf, with Preview on the piece they are trying.
Bags got the same treatment. There is a dino pack, a bunny pack, a cat pack, a fox pack, and a few ordinary backpacks, and students can spin the avatar around to see the pack on their back before they spend.

Caleb with the Dino Pack previewed. Buy is still a separate tap.
Hats are a long, happy row of their own: cowboy hats, duck hats, cat hats, beanies, and crowns. The same Preview button works there too, so a student can try the cowboy hat, switch to the duck hat, and only buy when they are sure.

Dahlia trying the cowboy hat. The duck hat is right there if she wants to switch!
Glasses, gloves, earrings, watches, and things to hold live in their own tabs. Everyday pieces are perfect for a first buy, and costume pieces cost a little more when a student wants to save up. Small extras sit around 15 to 30 tokens. Bags and most hats sit around 25 to 50. Armor and coats sit closer to 100. The closet is already a reason to cheer for points!
Five minutes with the class
This can be a tiny, joyful moment at the start of the week. No extra store-building required!
1. Open a student on the Students tab and tap their avatar.
2. Let them pick a skin tone, a haircut, a hair color, and an eye color first. That is the person!
3. Then one shop piece. A hat or a bag is plenty for day one.
4. Use Preview so the room can ooh and ahh at the same hat on a few different faces.
Those saved looks show up on Class Screen and on the Students page, so the whole class gets to celebrate the closet together.

Second Grade, each wearing something they chose. Caleb, Dahlia, and Elias all look like themselves!
FAQ
Do I have to add items to the avatar shop?
Nope! The closet is stocked when the class is created. Your Marketplace of homework passes and extra recess is still a wonderful thing to build. This shelf is a happy extra.
Do students spend points on hair color and eye color?
No. Those live on Edit and they are free. Points are for the shop: hats, bags, clothes, and the rest.
Do they need to reach a level first?
Most of the new closet is open from day one. The price is in class tokens.
Can the whole class wear the same costume?
Yes! Pieces are bought per student, so you can do a hat day, and the student who wants a plain hoodie can stay cozy there.
What if they buy something and do not like it?
They can take it off and try something else. Preview is there so most of those choices happen before the purchase.
Where do they see the new pieces?
Edit for hair and eyes. Shop for hats, bags, glasses, gloves, and clothes. The same avatar shows on the class screen and the Students page once they save.
