Introducing Task Lists: Bridging The Motivation Gap Between Home and School

Aug 24, 2025

The Bridge Between Home and School Rewards

We're excited to announce a powerful new feature highly requested by our parent community: Task Lists. This new tool creates a seamless ecosystem where your child's hard work at home and school contributes to a single, unified reward system.

What Are Task Lists?

Task Lists are a new way for parents to assign chores and responsibilities to their children at home. Think of it as a digital chore chart that integrates directly with your child's existing Classroom Hero experience.

Currently available for: Parents (with plans to expand to teachers in the future)

How It Works

1. Create and Assign Tasks

Easily set up tasks for your child. You can create daily, weekly, or one-time tasks—like chores or homework—and add them to task lists that you assign to your children. You can even set custom point values for each task or add bonus points for completing the entire list.

2. Children Complete and Submit

Kids mark tasks as complete and submit proof, such as a photo or a description of their work. You simply review and approve their submissions, and the points are awarded instantly.

3. Rewards and Motivation

The points your child earns at home are added to their existing Classroom Hero point balance. They can then spend these points on the same rewards they already work toward at school, creating consistent motivation across both environments.

The Home-School Ecosystem

This is where Task Lists become truly powerful. We've created a unified reward system that bridges the gap between home and school.

At Home:

  • Complete chores and responsibilities.

  • Earn points through task completion.

  • Build accountability and responsibility.

At School:

  • Continue earning points through classroom activities.

  • Maintain motivation and engagement.

The magic? When your child wants a special reward, they can now work toward it both at home and at school. The points they earn from doing homework, participating in class, or completing chores all contribute to the same goal.

Example: A New Video Game

Imagine your child wants a new video game that costs 500 points.

Before Task Lists: They could only earn points at school, leaving them with limited opportunities to reach their goal.

With Task Lists:

  • School points: 300 points from classroom activities.

  • Home points: 200 points from completing chores and responsibilities.

  • Total: 500 points = New video game! 🎮
